Performance

I've never been much of a Nitto fan, but based on reviews here and their great prices, I decided to spring for a set when my Star Specs finally bit the dust. I actually got them from a Discount Tire store and had them installed. Man, I regret it. :( Handling feel is dramatically reduced. Higher speed turns are floaty and disconnected compared to the Star Specs. The sidewalls are crazy stiff as well, but to no benefit that I can see. Little bumps transmit much harder into the car. Grip potential is lower too as evidenced in cornering speeds. In short, don't try to save $165. Buy Star Specs or RS3s. Maybe this post can save somebody a little heartache. All this said, Discount Tire is a great company to work with, has the best prices, and unbeatable selection.

Tire Pros

Price, track like tires, good replace for EVO oem tires.

Tire Cons

No warranty

Installed these on my 2014 EVO X. Great road and track tires. Cheaper than OEM Yokohamas but just as good.

Tire Pros

Very sticky tire and great grip all around. Better than most tires on the market.

Tire Cons

Better tires out now, Hankook RS3 or Bridgestone RE71R. But a lot more money.

This is an overall huge improvement over the stock Eagle F1s. These tires grip right from the start. You need to get them to operating temps though which is hard. They like to be driven at temps of 160-200F. Very happy with the tire but newer tires out are better and also more expensive.
